BIOGRAPHY:
Daniela R. Schillaci is assistant professor in Forensic Medicine in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the State University of Milan-Bicocca, based in Monza in the Medicine Campus.
Dr. Schillaci graduated from the Milan University Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and then worked as Resident in Forensic Medicine until 2000 at the Milan University. Since 1999 she worked for the University of Milan Bicocca (Education, Research projects). Most of her recent research is conducted in the area of malpractice in the health organizations. She has extensive experience in the field of Forensic Medicine, having worked as consultant (forensic medicine) for the Justice System (Milan and Monza District Courts and other North Italian Districts Courts). She has provided expert testimony in criminal proceedings pertaining forensic medicine cases (voluntary homicides, accidental deaths, traffic accidents, medical malpractice cases)
Daniela R. Schillaci is member of the Italian Society of Forensic and Insurance Medicine(SIMLA), Lombardy Association of Forensic Medicine Specialists (SLMLA), the Ambrosian Association of Forensic Doctors (AMLA), the International Traffic Medicine Association (ITMA), the Italian Association of Insurance Medicine (Life, Health, Personal damages) (AIMAV), the OstEuropaVerein Rechtsmedizin. She is member of the scientific committee of the Italian Association of Organ and Tissue Donors (AIDO), section of Monza Brianza. She is councillor of the Italian Association of Insurance Medicine (Life, Health, Personal damages) (AIMAV).

Organ donation – Transplantation (Italian legislation; International Organ trafficking), Forensic medicine education, Forensic Autopsy and forensic traumatology, Crime Scene Investigation, Domestic violence investigations, Homicide investigations, Personal Injury/Disability Evaluation – Italian tort law (neglect or malpractice), Medical Malpractice and risk management (informed consent; medical records documentation), Private Insurances (Health, Accident-Disease, Life, Credit Protection) and Social Insurances (Welfare, Public and Private Workers)
