Dr. Lisa Herzig is an Associate Professor, Department of Food Science and Nutrition at California State University. She works as in academic health educator and nutrition practitioner for over 20years, Teaching style fosters critical thinking and problem-solving strategies, challenging and supporting students towards excellence, Specialization in transformative learning and change for individuals and institutions, Lecturer on wide range of topics related to nutrition including diabetes management, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, menopause, cooking, healthy eating for all life stages, childhood obesity, medical nutrition therapy and weight management, and Faculty for California State University, Fresno, Dietetics Program Director, California State University, Fresno, and also Co-owner, Family Enrichment Program.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Lisa Herzig is interested in the fields of Effect of Pistachios on Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiovascular Disease, The Meaning of Food Amongst Cultures Indigenous to the San Joaquin Valley, CA, Adult and Childhood Obesity, Relationship of Obesity and Diabetes within a Obesigenic Environment, Body Image Dissatisfaction Amongst Adolescents Living in a Lower Socioeconomic Area, and Community Nutrition Program Planning.
