BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Kamarajan is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, USA and also a part of the Henri Begleiter Neurodynamics Laboratory (HBNL). He completed his PhD in clinical psychology in 2001 from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro science (NIHHANS), Bangalore, India. He has expertise in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and brain electrophysiology and neuroimaging. Since joining the HBNL in April 2002, he has been involved with neurophysiological research on alcoholism and related disorders, and has published several important research papers on brain abnormalities in individuals with substance use disorders and related conditions.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Kamarajan has extensive experience in the methods and analyses of electroencephalogram (EEG), event-related potentials (ERPs) and event-related oscillations (EROs), in addition to his expertise in neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation, neuroimaging, signal processing, statistics, and computational programming.
