BIOGRAPHY:
Sanku Dattamudi is currently a Postdoctoral Associate in Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA. He did his PhD in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture, Louisiana State University, USA. He did his MSc in Soil Water Engineering & Soil Physics, Punjab Agricultural University, India. He pursued BSc in Agriculture (Soil Science major), Visva Bharati University, India. He worked as NSF CREST Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Soil Chemistry, SERC, Florida International University, USA. He also worked as Research Associate in Soil Testing and Environmental Chemistry, Louisiana State University, USA.
Sanku Dattamudi published many papers in various national and international journals. He attended congresses, meetings and conferences. He has teaching experience also. He received many awards, grants and honours like Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST) grant, SERC Earth Educators’ Rendezvous award, etc. He is a Reviewer/Editor For numerous scholarly journals. He is also a member of many professional societies like Ecological Society of America (ESA), National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT), etc. He has certifications/license from National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC), Online Boating Safety Certification, etc.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Sanku Dattamudi research interests include Soil health, Soil management, Soil physical properties and C sequestration, Urban agriculture, Agroecology, Effect of soil and nutrient management on upland crop production. Carbon cycling and sequestration. Air quality issues (ammonia, methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide) from agricultural crop production, Physiochemical analysis of particulates from sugarcane harvesting, Micrometeorological analysis of bi-directional ammonia emission. Wetland ecology, Soil-Plant-Microbial interactions in wetland soil, Soil and sediment biogeochemistry, Phosphorus runoff and soil/sediment/water quality issues in Everglades’ national park, Nutrient pollution and trace gas emission in restored wetlands at Southern Florida.
